CYBERJAYA: Corporates and the private sector will be the next major thrust in developing Malaysia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and driving national innovation.
Deputy International Trade and Industry (MITI) Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the entrepreneurs and small medium enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of the country’s economy, with 97 per cent of business established through SMEs, which accounts for 65 per cent of the nation’s employment, 36 per cent gross domestic product (GDP) contribution and almost 18 per cent of Malaysia’s export.
