About the Job

The Vice President – Ventures reports directly to the CEO of MaGIC. The person will be responsible to generate strategic partnership with public/corporate organizations, government agencies and ministries to nurture startups and SE ecosystem; evaluating business opportunities; providing insight and direction in new market development; preparing strategic reports, recommendations and presentations; and gathering market and competitive intelligence.


The primary role of the VP Ventures is to develop senior level, sustainable stakeholder relationships where access and influence is significant, and growth is consistent and long term. This individual will leverage these relationships and influence to diagnose and provide innovative funding strategies aligned with MaGIC and stakeholder’s business goals.


Strategic Orientation – generates a strategic plan that integrates numerous business issues, functions and resources for effective action. Identify potential strategic partners, alliances and relationships, to generate strategic partnership with public/corporate organizations, government agencies and ministries to nurture startups and SE ecosystem. Each team will work multi-functionally and drive all activities from engagement management, concept development, program design and oversight.

Planning & Execution – SE Accreditation overall planning and execution including collaborating with MED on driving the growth of SE ecosystem.

Customer Impact – Engage client executives (C-Suite and decision-makers), providing strategic, thought-leadership on the client’s industry and market. Establish a high-impact relationship with key external clients, with the ability to envision and advocate a mutually beneficial long- term partnership between MaGIC and the client organization.

Communication – Communicate the Business Development strategy to CEO, Board of Directors and Senior Management.

Market Knowledge – Develop & grow business relationships in all market segments vital to the success of Company. Able to anticipates, capitalizes on and possibly drives changes in the market.

Result Orientation – Drive strategic corporate and partnership initiatives by developing senior, sustainable Stakeholder relationships and to identify and create collaboration opportunities within the ecosystem.

Collaboration & Influence – Develop partnership strategies with diverse corporate organization and government agencies (including Higher Education Institutes) that will provide brand awareness, funding growth and increasing market penetration for MaGIC. Collaborate with VP Marketing & Community to attract, as well as developing highly creative outreach strategies. Nurture broad networks of alliances with others to exchanges knowledge and information about learning and change in support of change initiatives in the industry.

People and Organization Development – Assist business units to effectively consult and engage strategic partners on relevant projects and programs.

Human Capital Management – Builds and manages a workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs. Ensures that employees are appropriately recruited, selected, appraised, and rewarded; takes action to address performance problems. Manages a diverse workforce and a variety of work situation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in business development and client relationship management.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people of any individual, irrespective of the background and personality.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Independent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty.
  • Style alignment with a strengths-oriented team environment and the ability to naturally elevate others.
  • Demonstrated track record of building the business.
  • Proven and verifiable history of increasing revenues to meet benchmarks and company goals.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership capability.
  • Ability to work with recent technological applications relating to daily tasks
