In conjunction with the MaGIC Ecosystem Builder Programme,

This month Grill or Chill programme is collaborating with University Teknologi MARA Shah Alam with the most uplifting social enterprise theme to provide exposure to social enterprise for students.

Grill or Chill (GoC) is a platform for individuals who has the idea in solving problem are able to showcase their product/services and get valuable feedback from experts in the ecosystem. Each GoC ends with a networking session where you can mingle and connect with other entrepreneurs in a cozy environment.

About Faculty of Communication & Media Studies

Communication Management & Policy (MC 248) is one of the programs offered under the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies of UiTM Shah Alam. This program focusses on producing future leaders, graduates of professional communication in the industry that will be able to plan and manage organizations. The students are exposed to various fields such as principles of communication management, communication audit, internal communication, crisis management, strategic communication and financial communication.

How does it work?

Each startup to be grilled are given 10 minutes:
5 minutes – Startup to showcase their product
5 minutes – Startup to be grilled by grillers

Our Speakers

Mohd Rizalman Mohd Ali

Rizalman is currently a Programme Coordinator with Malaysia’s Social Inclusion and Vibrant Entrepreneurship (MasSIVE), an initiative by Malaysian Global Innovation Creativity Centre (MaGIC) that aims to drive social impact through entrepreneurship initiatives that are outward looking and cohesive to relevant ecosystem players.

Rizalman brings with him many years of experience in social entrepreneurship where he first begun with being involved in various sustainability projects that empower communities and businesses through entrepreneurial thinking and impact. Rizalman is an advocate for all social enterprises from various industries and people from all walks of life including tourism, environmental conservation, indigenous groups and others.

Farahin Zin

Farahin is the Community Manager at Invigorate International, a social enterprise (SE) that trains and manages professional speakers for corporate events and programs. Invigorate’s inspiring speakers are also known as real-life Heroes, comprising of survivors of adversities, people living with medical conditions and caregivers.

She is the custodian of Invigorate’s relationships with its beneficiaries and clients, defending the balance that social entrepreneurship stands for: becoming financially sustainable while empowering a social cause. Having being a part of Invigorate since its inception and as a result of working closely with the founders, Farahin has experienced first-hand the complexities and beauty of running an SE. She is also driven to empower youth groups to become more empathetic in their pursuit of achieving success and is a strong advocate for the youth to use their influence to create deep and sustainable impact.
