Grill or Chill (GoC) is a platform for startups to showcase their product and get valuable feedback from experts in the startup ecosystem. Each GoC ends with a networking session where you can mingle and connect with other entrepreneurs in a cozy environment.

How Does It Work:

Each startup to be grilled are given 10 minutes:

  • 5 minutes – Startup to showcase their product
  • 5 minutes – Startup to be grilled by Grillers

Leany Mokhtar
Director, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Sarawak

Leany Mokhtar has started her career path with MATRADE, the national trade promotion agency of Malaysia, since 2006 and has been in various sections in MATRADE, such as Trade Analysis Unit, Corporate Communications Unit, Malaysian Kitchen Unit, etc. Currently she holds the position as the Director in MATRADE Sarawak. With MATRADE, she has been given the opportunities to involve in major international trade fairs and trade missions overseas.

Prior to joining MATRADE, Leany has worked with one of Malaysia’s prominent advertising / media house in Kuala Lumpur as a Media Buyer and later with Borneo Post in Kuching as a Research Executive for its weekly supplement, Economica.

Leany graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam with a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA Hons) in Retail Management.

Garry Chow

Garry Chow is a lawyer who shifted gears from fast car as motoring journalist, to fast company as creative director, to fast mind as certified trainer and coach.

Tapping on his career background experience in journalism with The Star, Asian Auto, MPH and in advertising with Top 500 companies as clients, he is able share real life pragmatic solutions and actual case studies.The Accredited Mediator specialises in Conflict Mediation & Crisis Management, Organisational Culture Change & Emotional Management, and Negotiation Strategies & Persuasive Communication.

Being in the communication industry for more than 18 years, the PRISM Neuroscience Brain-mapping Practitioner of UK develops and customises transformational training and coaching to meet clients’ needs and goals. Garry participated in United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) & UNHCR projects in 2007-2009 where he train and coach people on how to have peaceful conflict resolution. He also mediate and coach business partners to resolve conflict, protect rights and be aligned, united plus profitable.

His experience in event management production and as a speaker is being utilised to coach CEOs on how to Present Like Apple© / Steve Jobs, on top of coaching TEDx speakers the appropriate techniques since 2013.Clients are Multi-National, Public Listed, Government-Linked companies and Government Departments & Agencies in numerous countries.
