Session Summary 

The Business Model Canvas is a visual to describe, design and test your business model. It is generally being used by strategic managers and provides a holistic view of your current business.

This course will help to break down a business and lets you see the connection between the value proposition, customer, key activities + resources, customer relationships, and channels. It will clearly identify key strengths and sheds light on non-value adding activities that are waste for businesses.

BMC is ideal for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of Business Models / build their startup / have a role to play in an organisation that can influence strategy.

What Will You Learn?

The 1-day course will introduce participants to one of the most coherent and holistic approaches to building and evaluating Business Models.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Better understand Business Models through the BMC
  • Build a coherent Business Models
  • Quickly identify and break down existing business models
  • Use the BMC to build up new Business Models, or iterate on existing business models for improvement

Jerome ‘Axle’ Brown

Axle, a graduate of John Hopkins University, has spent the last 16 years working in the entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy field. He had an exciting career working in the first two Obama presidential campaigns, and then on entrepreneurship and innovation projects with the United States Department of Energy.

After attaining his Master’s in Design Strategy through the Open Master’s, he turned down job opportunities at the White House and decided to pursue an 18-month research sabbatical in South East Asia to explore the question: “How can a business generate happiness and reduce suffering in the world?” Now at Human Inc, he works as a Design Lead, specifically focused on strategic Research & Development (R&D), business development and workshop facilitation. Clients trained include bankers at CIMB, senior management at ING, middle managers at Singapore Airlines, Audit department Alliance Bank, startups at MaGIC, operations at Heineken Malaysia, emergent leaders at UEM.

Brittnee Bond

 Brittnee is a successful and sought-after business consultant working extensively in the coworking and coliving industry. She specialises in bringing the industry’s “”secret sauce”” into corporations and helping their teams and culture incorporate a more dynamic and flexible approach to work; creating more fulfilled employees and productive outcomes.

From founder, cofounder, manager, consultant, strategist and transition specialist, Brittnee has experienced all facets of starting and managing businesses. She has 6 years in corporate law (USA) and extensive training in facilitation for design thinking. Brittnee wants to change the culture around how we work and how we think about work through creative leadership. She’s facilitated all types of sessions, from large conferences, business masterminds to women’s entrepreneurship retreats and accelerator programs.

Her free time is spent volunteering in sustainable impact projects with local NGOs in developing countries, and building out women entrepreneurship groups in the countries she travels through.

Christoffer Erichsen

Chris has 20 years of experience in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and facilitation of change and is a sought-for keynote speaker and process facilitator.

As a senior process consultant he has led and delivered large change management and innovation projects in Europe & South East Asia working in industries such as banking, insurance, fintech, IT/Tech, logistics, aviation, government and startup ecosystem etc.

Chris studied youth culture at SDU in Denmark and is a certified Systemic and Narrative Coach from DISPUK in Denmark and a certified GrowthWheel Business Advisor & Master Trainer.

He believes in the power of humanising business and applying human- centered design practices to build better products, services and experiences that solve problems users care about

At Human INC he supports companies in boosting learning, culture and innovation. Courses include Design Thinking for Non-Designers, Creative Leadership, Leading Innovation and Agile Projects.

Chris is a huge music lover (Jazz to Techno) and still DeeJays occasionally at select events.
