The ALT.Labs Juniors series aim to give kids/young adults of the community an introduction to the world of coding, computer science and many more interesting topics that we feel are important for youngsters to learn and be exposed to at an early age. This course is a fun way to introduce drag-and drop coding for these young minds to easily understand and spark an interest in the revolving world of technology we live in. We will be introducing the Scratch platform to try out the actual drag-and drop coding scripts. But before that let’s have some fun with simple hands on activities to introduce what is coding.

This is an introductory and interactive session; hence no coding experience is necessary. We will be going through how to use the Scratch platform. So, come along and enjoy the session. This session is open to kids aged 7 to 9 years.

  • Bring own laptop
  • Sweater
  • Pencils and paper
  • Parents can create a free Scratch account for your kids (this is to save any coding they have done) but we can also use Scratch without creating an account
  • One parent or guardian is allowed to accompany the child throughout the session
  • (Optional) Water and snacks.
