Dr. Darren Ng is the co-founder and lead partner for Rhombus Connexion Restaurants and Cafes (Western) division, and founder of The Morning After chain. The Morning After is part of Rhombus Connexion, a visionary platform and sustainable ecosystem for F&B entrepreneurs that nurtures growth and accelerates business expansion. It owns over 19 brands and more than 40 outlets across four countries.
Chin Ren Yi is the co-founder of myBurgerLab, whose signature charcoal burger bun was the rage across social media recently. Ren Yi was inspired to come up with a Malaysian edition of the likes of ShakeShack and In-N-Out through the various experiences that he gleaned from the different cities of the west coast in the United States. Upon returning, Ren Yi together with his two other friends, accounting and finance major, Wee Kiat, and also Chang Ming with a mechanical engineering background embarked on this endeavour to make the world a happier place, one burger at a time.
Stan Chooi is the CEO at Sometime by Asian Designers, is a bag specialist company that co-designs with selected Asian designers and fashion icons. They produce designer bags in their own factory, and leverage on expertise and resources to offer exclusive designer bags without the conventional retail markups.
Taking a different path than what is intended for him after graduation, Yoon Khen founded CANUX in 2011 and embarked on his journey as a documentary photographer and website developer, diversifying his experience in multiple arenas. Eventually, he left the cubicle to take on the role of a Project Program Management Advisor in Dell and Chief Operating Officer in Mystartr.
Yoon Khen got his big break in February 2015, when Think City funded his first book publication, called the “Traditional Trades of Penang.” When he’s not busy leading Lokalocal, he can be seen at various events, engaging in TEDx Petaling Street 2014 speaker, being a columnist and sometimes, radio guest.
Imran Sheik is a passionate entrepreneur, legal studies graduate, and a generalist. He founded Ombré, a fashion styling app, and Jibril’s Lounge, the first non-alcoholic speakeasy bar in Malaysia. He started venturing into entrepreneurship in 2014, when he became a licensee of Sangkaya, and opened a coconut ice cream shop, all whilst studying in his final year of law degree.
In 2015, he founded Jibril’s Lounge, aiming to venture into the Food & Beverages industry. His latest venture is Ombré – a fashion styling app that suggests clothes that are suitable to app users based on both algorithms and user’s physical traits.
Aaron Ram Sarma is the founder and CEO at Touristly, with a demonstrated history of working in the leisure, travel & tourism industry. He is skilled in Marketing Management, Business Planning, Operations Management, Sales, and Retail. Touristly is a platform that enables travellers to customize holidays with ease, aiming to eliminate the process of searching through various websites and apps for the best travel deals.
